About this Collection
Remember before the internet, kids used to run around outside instead of being stuck in front of their screens the whole day? That’s a rare sight these days. Even rarer is finding images of Black and Brown children enjoying the outdoors. We weren't the only ones who noticed this.
Children & Nature Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to getting children to reconnect with nature. They know firsthand how hard it is to find photos of Black and Brown children and families enjoying the outdoors on the internet. That's why they partnered with Nappy Studio, our photo studio, to improve diversity and representation in the outdoors.
We also sat down with Laura Mylan from Children & Nature Network and discussed our creative approach to tackling diversity and representation in photography, why we launched Nappy, and sharing our stock photo production process.
